NEW YORK, September 23, 2026 — African and international leaders have gathered in New York for the Africa House Global Assembly, a two-day meeting focusing on investment, human capital, industrial development, culture and Africa’s role in the changing global order.
The assembly, hosted by Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP during the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week, is being held under the theme “Global Africa — A World on New Terms.”
The September 22–23 meeting is bringing together leaders from government, business, finance, technology and culture to discuss how Africa can mobilise capital, develop skills and strengthen industrial capacity to create greater economic opportunities.
A key focus is Africa House’s Future Force human-capital agenda, which examines how education, advanced skills, technology and financing can connect Africa’s growing population to employment and other economic opportunities.
The initiative includes a target to mobilise $50 billion by 2035 for human-capital and workforce transformation. A human-capital financing roundtable is also examining how public, private and philanthropic funding can support education, employment and talent mobility.

The assembly is also addressing infrastructure, agriculture, critical minerals, technology and manufacturing, with discussions centred on how African countries can capture greater value through processing and industrial development.
Other sessions are examining the financial structures needed to support long-term investment, including capital, risk management and partnerships.
The meeting has also brought cultural and historical issues into the discussion, with sessions focusing on African cultural unity, historical reparations, restitution and the preservation of intergenerational legacies.
Africa House is also launching its Legacy Initiative, which brings together families and descendants connected to Pan-Africanism, independence movements and civil-rights leadership to explore how those legacies can contribute to Africa’s future.
The New York gathering is further hosting the launch of Kenya House and Kenya Road to Davos, initiatives led by Crystal Tribe Investments in partnership with the Government of Kenya, aimed at strengthening international engagement around Kenya’s national and investment priorities ahead of Davos 2027.
Kenya’s delegation includes senior officials responsible for foreign affairs, housing and urban development, energy, mining and investment promotion.
Africa House says the assembly is intended to strengthen connections between African leaders, investors, institutions, talent and the diaspora while building partnerships around the continent’s long-term priorities.
